  1. aGeometric means were used to calculate fold changes (ASD/control) in ASD individuals (n = 37) compared to control (n = 37) subjects. There were no significant differences in age (ASD = 10.9 ± 3.4 years; control = 10.3 ± 3.0 years) or body mass index (BMI) (ASD = 18.0 ± 3.5 kg/m2, control = 17.7 ± 3.1 kg/m2). Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) scores were significantly different (ASD = 92.0 ± 20; control = 43.9 ± 18; P <0.001). See Table 2 for more detailed demographics.
